A BURY soap star has been revealed as the 11th celebrity skater to compete in Dancing on Ice 2018. 

Antony Cotton, who went to Woodhey High School in Holcombe Brook, revealed the news at the end of last night's second episode of Coronation Street. 

Antony has met his professional partner and will now embark on training ahead of the new series, which returns to ITV in the New Year. 

The 42-year-old said: "I better get my skates on - I've got practising to do!"

The 12 celebrities will be skating to impress the ice panel, consisting of skating legends Torvill and Dean, show favourite Jason Gardiner and one remaining judge, as well as the viewers at home.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby return to host the show, which was last on screens in 2014.

Antony joins previously confirmed celebrities Brooke Vincent, Cheryl Baker, Kem Cetinay, Candice Brown, Max Evans, Jake Quickenden, Monty Panesar, Alex Beresford, Donna Air and Perri Shakes-Drayton.
