A MAN caught carrying a kitchen knife has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Jermaine Rhoden, aged 20, of Meade Hill Road, Prestwich, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in Lowton Street, Bury, on January 11. Magistrates ordered him to carry out 80 hours unpaid work and participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
He was also told he has to pay £85 towards prosecution costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
