A grill pan left in an oven caused a kitchen fire.
The fire occurred in a semi-detached house in Ferngrove, Bury at 5.48pm yesterday.
Three fire engines from Bury, Whitefield and Heywood attended the scene for around 35 minutes.
Crews used a dry powder extinguisher and hose reel to tackle the blaze.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue reminded people to be vigilant when cooking food, as carelessness in the kitchen can cost lives.
