GREENMOUNT Women's Institute has raised £600 for a Bury-based cancer charity.
The group held a coffee morning in April and presented a cheque for the money raised to Sam's Gift last Thursday.
The charity was set up by the family of Sam Nicholls, who died aged 22, after a short battle with cancer.
Sam, who attended Tottington High School, was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma in May 2014, and underwent treatments before passing away in November of the same year.
Sam’s Gift aims to support teenagers and young adults diagnosed with cancer, by creating Journey Boxes which are donated to the Youth Oncology Unit at The Christie in Manchester, where Sam underwent his treatment.
Greenmount Women's Institute meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7.30pm at The Emmanuel Church Centre in Longsight Road, Holcombe Brook.
New members and visitors are always welcome.
