A WOMAN’S favourite clothes were stolen from her washing line.
Lisa Mawdsley woke up to find that her denim shirt and two ‘going out’ tops had been pinched from her back garden.
The 44-year-old, who lives off Bury Road, used a neighbour’s CCTV to trace the woman who had taken the items.
She said: “I went into my back garden and saw the gate was wide open. After a couple of minutes I realised the clothes had gone too.
"I was gutted. I had bought them for my holiday. They are my best going out clothes.”
Ms Mawdsley visited the woman and requested the clothes be returned.
She said: "They were so embarrassed. They gave them back and said they were so sorry."
A police spokeswoman said: “At 1.15pm on Wednesday, July 25, police received a report that some clothing had been stolen from a washing line.
"The clothing has since been returned and the matter has been resolved.”
