RAMSBOTTOM Scouts celebrated the centenary of the international movement with a weekend of festivities.
About 100 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from the six groups in the district joined forces at an activity day at Woodhey High School.
They split into eight mixed teams in order to take turns on a series of activities, ranging from circus skills to science experiments with rockets launched from plastic bottles.
Other festivities organised to celebrate 100 years of Robert Baden-Powell's movement included a commemorative camp fire and fireworks display at Holcombe Hill and a hoedown at Ramsbottom Civic Hall.
District secretary Sue Leach said: "It was a great weekend.
"There was a very good turnout at Holcombe Hill considering the weather, and despite the rain we got a good camp fire going.
"All of the events were great opportunities for all the groups in the Ramsbottom district to come together, make friends and share skills."
