TWO houses have been damaged after a fire spread from a wood pile.
The incident happened at just after 1pm today, in Weythorne Drive in Jericho.
It is understood that the occupier had put ashes from a fire onto the woodpile, which then smouldered and set the pile alight.
The flames then travelled through an air vent into the property's utility room, spreading to several items.
No one was injured in the blaze, however the house and a neighbouring property suffered damage to the fascia, guttering and windows.
Whitefield Community Fire Station watch manager Tony Wellock said: "We were called at around 1.05pm to a fire in a back garden originally.
"The occupier had put ashes from the night before on the woodpile, so overnight it had obviously been smouldering and then it caught fire.
"The fire got through an air vent and into the utility room and there is damage to the back of the property as the fire has melted the guttering, fascia and windows and a neighbouring property has also been damaged."
