Intermittent power outages affected residents in Ramsbottom last night.

The power cuts were caused by a transient underground cable.

Electricity North West were aware of a fault in the BL0 area by 8:50pm last night and sent an engineer to the site.

Around ten customers were affected but the location of the fault has not been identified.

A spokesperson for Electricity North West, said: “The nature of these faults makes them very difficult to identity. Our engineers have been working hard to locate the fault and have installed specialist equipment to help locate the fault in order to carry out a full repair as quickly as possible.
