TO mark the beginning of the new season, Ramsbottom Choral Society and Concert Orchestra will perform Haydn's 'The Creation' during their upcoming concert.
Their performance this Saturday, conducted by Barry Sugden, will feature soprano soloist Suzanne Mather, tenor soloist Louis-Charles Gagnon and bass soloist Samuel Jackson.
Visitors are invited to Bolton Road Methodist Church in Bury for the performance at 7.30pm.
The Society will take a collection for the Manacare Foundation, a charity that was established following the devastating tsunami which hit Sri Lanka in 2004.
The Sugden family is due to travel to Sri Lanka for eight months in January to volunteer in Hikkaduwa. They will help the village on its path to self-sustainability by providing training, medical care, temporary accommodation, new infrastructure and other projects.
Musical director Mr Sugden said: "Ramsbottom Choral Society and Concert Orchestra is very proud to support this charity."
