FIRE crews had to use specialist cutting equipment to remove a stuck-fast wedding ring from a husband's finger.
The newly-wed's finger had swollen, causing the titanium ring to become firmly wedged in place.
The man, in his 30s, attended Bury Fire Station to request help.
Rick Taylor, watch manager, said: "The man had got a wedding ring fairly recently. He had been married for less than one year.
"His finger had heavily swollen and it was causing him a lot of pain. I think it had been troubling him for a number of days.
"We had to remove the ring using a dremel ring cutter."
Firefighters spent about 30 minutes undertaking the task at 7am on Friday.
