TWO teenagers were trapped in a car after a crash on the busy M66.
The girls, aged 13 and 16, were in their family's grey BMW X5 heading to the Trafford Centre when their car collided with a black Vauxhall Astra.
Firefighters from Bury attended the scene near junction one of the M66 to cut the girls free using specialist equipment.
The girls required medical attention and were taken to North Manchester Hospital by ambulance.
The crew were called at about 6pm to the crash and were at the scene for almost an hour.
The southbound carriageway was closed for about three hours while the emergency services dealt with the incident and cleared the road.
