BURY Hospice’s 2018 Strictly Dance Challenge concluded with its Grand Finale Show in front of an audience of 400 people at Prestwich’s Longfield Suite last week.
In a dazzling climax this year’s 34 participants each performed four routines they had learned over the three months of weekly dance lessons.
This year’s overall winners were Rachel Moore and Stuart Stokes who were handed the title by a panel of judges including two professional dance instructors alongside actors Samantha Siddal and Sally Carman, and the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Jane Black.
Prizes were also given out to the best couples in each of the dance categories, and at the end of the night it was announced that the challenge had raised £42,000 for Bury Hospice.
Deborah Lisle, the event’s co-organiser said, ‘”What an outstanding achievement by all of our strictly stars of 2018. Their dedication and enthusiasm resulted in a truly spectacular Grand Finale where they sparkled.”
Donations can still be made at the Bury Hospice Strictly Justgiving page.
