A GROUP of Bury College students have paid a visit to a leading university to sample life as an undergraduate.

Six A-level students enjoyed an overnight residential at The University of Oxford's Mansfield College, which included a taster session of the degree course they were interested in, as well as question and answer sessions with heads of subject.

The youngsters sat a mock interview with university professors, before finding time to soak up the cultural sights and sounds of the city of dreaming spires.

Elysia Grimes-Haworth, who is studying A-levels in geography, biology and sociology, was one of those who went on the visit.

The former Elton High School pupil said: “The trip to Oxford was extremely motivating and overall a great experience.

"I really enjoyed being able to speak to the tutors and meet new people who were interested in studying the same course as me.”
