POLICE are warning residents to be on their guard against bogus cold callers after group of men were spotted knocking on doors in the borough.
The reports concern four men who have been pretending to solicit information about resident's energy bills in the Bury and Radcliffe areas.
However the men are not carrying identification and they are suspected to be scouting as a way to get into homes or gather personal details, police say.
In a post on Facebook, GMP Radcliffe said: "Early Notice Warning - Beware of anyone calling at your door asking householders about their energy bills. Report of 4 males in the Radcliffe/Bury area calling at doors, they do not have ID and it may a way of trying to get into your house or obtain your personal details."
