THE Village Hotel was evacuated today after an industrial tumble dryer set on fire.
Guests and staff at the Rochdale Road venue were forced to leave the premises on safety grounds.
Three appliances from Bury Fire Station attended the incident at the hotel in Waterfold Business Park, The crew manager said: "We received a call at 12.30pm to a report that an industrial tumble dryer was on fire.
"The hotel management had evacuated guests and staff."
Firefighters spent 30 minutes at the scene.
The duty manager for the Village Hotel declined to comment.
