A MAN who collapsed by the side of the road told police he had been "blown over by Storm Freya".
Officers came across the man in Whittaker Lane in Prestwich at about 7pm last night.
Police said the man, who was in his mid 60s, had recently left a nearby pub and was "well lubricated".
He claimed he had been blown over by Storm Freya.
Paramedics were called to the scene to treat the man, although he is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.
As Storm Freya struck on Sunday, the North West was battered by gales, rain and snow.
In some parts of the country, wind speeds reached nearly 80mph, trees were felled and roads closed as the weather caused disruption.
