SUPERJOSH founder Dawn Fidler brings you her latest blog

We know first-hand the trauma that the death of a child brings so we have been working with and supporting Lauren and her family including her young son Charlie with whatever we could to help ease the strain.

Lauren has had sessions with our wonderful counselling team after the death of her daughter Gracie, and although she now feels she doesn’t need sessions as regularly, she knows she can call on them if she needs to.

Lauren and Charlie have recently enjoyed some precious family time during a weekend away at the picturesque Ribby Hall. The time away means they could have a much-needed respite break.

A wonderfully generous gesture from one of the charities big supporters, Ray Porter, from Fusion Fostering North West Care, who lent the charity his beautiful chalet for the weekend.

Lauren said: “The break was amazing and meant I could have ‘normal’ family time with Charlie, we felt just like a ‘regular’ family again, just for the weekend. I’m so very grateful for the time we spent there.”

Lauren and Charlie also enjoyed a wonderful day out at Sedgley Park Rugby Club thanks to Get Driving Today.

Lauren, Laura (Lauren’s mum) and Charlie were treated to a wonderful meal ahead of the games and after the meal they met the players and enjoyed a rather muddy photo shoot, so they had a memento of their special day. This is the second time this event has been organised and it really does mean the world to the lucky family that attend.

Lauren added “I can’t thank the SuperJosh charity enough for all the support they have given us over the past few years. I know how much their support has helped us and is continuing to help others along their own journey. I know if I need support, I can just pick up the phone and call them and that means the world.”
