A TEENAGER caused damage, estimated at £1,200, to furnishings and fittings a property in Castlecroft Road, Bury, on February 19. At Manchester Youth Court the 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty and was referred to a youth offender panel for six months. He must also pay £100 in costs and charges.

A MAN caught driving a Mercedes after taking cannabis has been banned from the roads for 14 months. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Shuaib Haroon, aged 25, of Parkhills Road, Bury, pleaded guilty to drug driving on Manchester Road, Bury, on December 4 last year. He was also fined £240 and was ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A CONDITIONAL discharge for 12 months has been handed to a man who admitted assaulting a woman in Bury on February 25. James Forrest, aged 37, of Cornwall Drive, Bury, had previously denied the offence but changed his plea at Manchester Magistrates’ Court. He was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

A MAN who assaulted another man on December 6 last year has been ordered to pay his victim £100 in compensation.

Scott Morrison, aged 38, of Prestwich Hospital, Bury New Road, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.

Manchester magistrates sentenced him to a conditional discharge for six days and he was ordered to pay £50 towards prosecution costs.

A MOTORIST who drank almost four times the legal alcohol limit has been ordered to do 200 hours unpaid work by Manchester magistrates.

Graham Gee, aged 38, of Bamford Close, Bury, was caught driving a Ford Fiesta on Bury Road, Rochdale, on February 22.

He pleaded guilty to committing the offence and, in addition to the unpaid work, must attend 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £170 in costs and charges. He was banned from driving for 40 months.

MAGISTRATES have banned a teenager from driving for 12 months after he drank more than double the alcohol limit and drove a Seat Leon on Worsley Road, Salford, on February 16.

Jacob Gordon, aged 19, of Bury New Road, Prestwich, pleaded guilty and was also fined £250 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A MAN who admitted being drunk and disorderly in Silver Street, Bury on New Year’s Day has been fined £40 by Manchester magistrates. George McCarthy, aged 22, of Ribble Drive, Whitefield, was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A TEENAGER who admitted assaulting a woman on March 17 has been ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work by Manchester magistrates. Kyle Walsh, aged 19, of Croston Road, Bury, was also told he must attend a relationships programme for 33 days, rehabilitation activities for 40 days and pay £100 to his victim in compensation plus £85 towards prosecution costs.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 100 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and possessing cocaine on March 22.

Devon Bannister, aged 27, of Brook Walk, Tottington, was also ordered to pay his victim £140 in compensation and “170 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a thief who stole cosmetics, worth £661, from Marks and Spencer on January 9 to have treatment for drug addiction.

Lisa Hunter, aged 36, of Orchid Avenue, Bury must also participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
