A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after being hit by a lorry.
The incident happened in Warth Road, Bury, at about 10am this morning.
An ambulance attended the scene and the woman, who was in her 60s, was taken to hospital with head injuries and pain to her back.
Police say her injuries were not thought to be serious or life-threatening.
Residents living in the area said the road was closed for about half an hour while police carried out investigations.
One reported seeing a pool of what looked like blood on a patch of grass, as well as a pot towel covered in blood.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called shortly before 10.10am to reports of a collision between a pedestrian in her 60s and a lorry.
"She was taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries which are not serious or life threatening."
