A TEENAGE boy was taken to hospital after being assaulted outside an off licence in Radcliffe.
The 16-year-old was hit on the head with what is believed to have been a hammer, police said.
He suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The Bury Times previously reported that emergency services were called to the incident outside Jason's Mini Market in Albion Street.
A police investigation has been launched.
North West Ambulance Service confirmed they had attended at about 4.30pm on April 24.
A police spokeswoman said: "A 16-year-old boy was assaulted. He was hit on the head with what is believed to have been a hammer. He suffered minor injuries and he was taken to hospital as a precaution.
"Our enquiries are ongoing."
