MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 100 hours of unpaid work after he was caught driving while banned and without insurance. Alexander Brici, aged 33, of Carlton Court, Kersal Road, Prestwich, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a VW Polo on Kersal Road, Bury, on May 17. He was banned from applying for a driving licence for eight months and ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.

A WHITEFIELD teenager has been sentenced to 18 months in detention after admitting threatening behaviour on July 3 and he failed to turn up to court. Magistrates at Manchester Youth Court heard the 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had previously committed similar offences.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to undertake 60 hours of unpaid work after he he pleaded guilty to assaulting a man, possessing cannabis and using threatening behaviour on February 17. Alex Beaty, aged 20, of Hunstanton Drive, Bury, was also ordered to participate in five days of rehabilitation activities pay £150 towards prosecution costs and £150 in compensation.

A DRINK driver, who had consumed almost three times the legal alcohol limit, has been banned from the roads for two years. James Tomlinson, aged 27, of Whalley Road, Ramsbottom, pleaded guilty to committing the offence while driving a VW Caddy on Sunny Brow, Middleton, on August 24. He was also electronically tagged and made subject to a curfew for 12 weeks and ordered to pay £175 in costs and charges.

A MAN who was caught drink driving and without a licence or insurance, has been fined £400 by Manchester magistrates. Darren Wing, aged 51, of Harrison Street, Ramsbottom, pleaded guilty to committing the offences in a VW Golf on Bradley Lane, Bury, on August 14. He was also ordered to pay £125 in costs and charges and was banned from applying for a driving licence for 14 months.

A MAN has been jailed for 28 days after he breached a domestic violence protection order for a second time on August 28. Curtis Carruthers, aged 31, of Milton Road, Radcliffe, admitted the breach when he appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.

A TEENAGER caught drink driving on a moped has been banned from holding a licence for 12 months. At Manchester Youth Court, the 17-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on Walmersley Road, Bury, on July 28.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to be electronically tagged after he pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and after using cannabis. Joseph Balfe, aged 20, of Hazel Avenue, Bury, committed the offences while driving an Audi A3 on Heywood Street, Bury, on January 13. He was electronically tagged and made subject to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 12 weeks. He must also participate in 25 days of rehabilitation activities. He was also banned from applying for a driving licence for 12 months and was ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.
