People are being invited to join a special Remembrance event designed to pay tribute to our armed forces and help prevent isolation and loneliness in elderly residents.
The event will include readings of First World War poems which will be read by a costumed Red Cross Nurse.
There will then be a talk on the history of the poppy emblem before a singalong of songs from the war years — including The Rose of No Man's Land, during which a young girl also dressed a Red Cross Nurse will hand out roses — and a rendition of the last post played by a bugler.
It will take place at Ramsbottom Library from 4pm to 5pm on November 7. Tea and cakes will be available.
