A BURY man who went on two separate wrecking sprees in the town centre last Friday night has been warned about his future conduct.

Adam Ellis, 34, was first arrested and charged by police when he smashed a glass door at the entrance to Bury North MP James Daly's office last Thursday night.

Ellis left glass scattered across the hallways of the Bolton Street premises, resulting in damage estimated at £300.

And then after returning to the streets the following night, he was involved in three separate vandalism incidents, Manchester magistrates heard.

Ellis damaged a window and wall at the Castle Leisure Centre, resulting in a £150 repair bill, the court was told.

And he also damaged a wall and window belonging to the National Probation Service on the same day, which will cost £200 to fix.

Magistrates heard that Ellis, of no fixed address, also damaged an outer wall, to the value of £200, at Bury Police Station in Castlecroft Road.

Ellis, who pleaded guilty to three offences of causing criminal damage, was conditionally discharged for 12 months by the court and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £22.

But no order was made for costs or compensation because of the man's limited means.

Earlier he had been ordered to pay £100 compensation in relation to the damage to Mr Daly's house, after admitting to criminal damage at the same court a day earlier.
