FIGURES available from the Office for National Statistics show that residents of the Bury South Constituency earn up to £1,000 more than those in Bury North.

Under gross weekly pay figures for full-time workers from 2019, Bury North residents earn approximately £593.40 a week, while those in Bury South earn £612.40.

The difference of £19 equates to just under £1,000 more a year.

Bury North, represented by James Daly MP, covers Ramsbottom, Tottington and Bury.

Bury South, represented by Christian Wakeford MP, covers Besses, Holyrood, Pilkington Park, Radcliffe East, Radcliffe North, Radcliffe West, St Mary's, Sedgley and Unsworth.

While there is scope for error in the figures, the difference from the margin of error could send either amount up or down.

The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) dataset contains information on approximately 180,000 jobs in all industries, occupations and regions, making it the most comprehensive source of earnings information in the UK.
