AGE UK Bury has reopened its Conservatory Cafe at the Jubilee Centre by the Clarence Park Lido.

The Cafe has thrown open its doors for the first time since the lockdown began, with new added safety measures and health controls in place.

The Cafe is now open Monday to Friday from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm.

Andy Hazeldine, chief officer said: "It’s great to see our members back in the cafe. We have taken all steps possible to make the café free from the virus and we are now swimming in sanitizer.

"To allow for social distancing measures, we have reduced the number of tables to but we will add more tables and chairs outside, if the weather permits us to.”

The charity has said that they can accept a limited amount of donations at the Bury shop, but donors are asked to call 0161 761 2780 to check if there is adequate space.

AGE UK are not currently accept donations at the Jubilee Centre as space is needed to start activities when they are allowed to do so.

The charity has also opened its shop in The Rock, with social distancing measures now in place.

The shop, which is operating on reduced hours, has introduced a limit of six customers in the shop at any one time.

It will be open Wednesday to Saturday from 10.00 to 3.00 – to allow more time for cleaning and change of stock.

The Ramsbottom-based charity shop is set to open this month.
