A BURY-based law firm will be holding a "Lasting Powers of Attorney Week" for local residents in November.
Clough and Willis, based in Manchester Road, said that with the UK still in the grips of the pandemic, "getting your legal and financial affairs in order has never been so important."
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) enables you to appoint a trusted friend, relative or professional to make decisions about your finances, property and personal welfare in the event that you are in an accident or you develop an illness that leaves you unable to make such decisions for yourself.
During this year’s LPA Week, happening from November 9 to 13, the firm will be offering a 25% discount to anyone who wishes to put an LPA in place.
Nicola Finbow, head of the private client team at Clough & Willis said: “The impact of COVID-19 has been unprecedented and we have seen a rush of people over the past few months wanting to put their affairs in order. Many haven’t been affected by the pandemic, but it has made them stop and reassess the potential impact on their, and their loves ones’, lives if they were to become ill.
"Having an LPA in place gives reassurance and peace of mind that an individual’s interests and wishes will be protected should the worse happen.”
