A HOSPITAL patient who assaulted a mental health support worker at Fairfield General has been jailed for 16 weeks.
Kieran Clark, 28, was also said to have damaged a number of items at the Bury hospital during an incident on September 12.
Clark, of Wray Place, Rochdale, pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker, namely mental health support worker Carole Conway, as well as criminal damage.
Manchester magistrates ruled custody was the only option, given the defendant's past criminal record.
Clark was given 12 weeks for the assault and a further four weeks for the criminal damage.
He must also pay Ms Conway £100 in compensation, No order for costs or a victim surcharge were made.
