BURY was transformed into a winter wonderland as April snow fell overnight.

These stunning photographs taken by photographer Daniel Crompton captured the unseasonal spring snowy scene enjoyed by early risers this morning.

Daniel took pictures around Openshaw Park, as well Holcombe and Scout Moor.

The Met Office issues a yellow warning of snow and ice last night, which was in place until 8am, this morning.

There is still a risk of icy conditions on untreated roads and drivers are being urged to remain cautious.

The Met Office tweeted: “A cold and frosty start for many with sunshine and a few wintry showers.”

There are no weather warnings in place for Monday, when non-essential retail and outdoor hospitality are due to reopen for the first time in months as the lockdown is eased in England.

The weather is expected to turn milder next week.
