DANISH retailer JYSK is set to open a new store in Bury as part of its ambitious UK expansion plans.

The first of the two new stores that the much-loved Scandinavian brand will open will be on June 10 in Bury at Angouleme Retail Park, followed by a store in Stockport at Manchester Road Retail Park on July 8.

As well as bringing affordable Scandi-chic homeware to the region, bosses claim 25 new jobs are being created.

“We are thrilled to be opening two stores in Greater Manchester to make our affordable and much-loved furniture even more accessible in the North,” said Jenny Johnston, JYSK sales and marketing manager, UK & Ireland. “Our head office operations are also based in Stockport, so we have a strong affinity for the area and continue to see it prosper.

"The Bury and Stockport stores will bring the affordable Scandi homewares and furniture that we are synonymous with to discerning and design-conscious shoppers of Greater Manchester who will be able to click and collect the same day, as well as explore exclusive in-store lines.”

After hitting the milestone of 3,000 stores worldwide in February 2021, JYSK has set its next goal of 5000 stores worldwide.

Already seeing success in the Greater Manchester area through their Bolton store, the upcoming double store opening comes as part of JYSK’s expansion plan to have 26 stores in the UK by the end of their financial year.
