Hagside level crossing, Radcliffe, 1980
A new level crossing complete with automatic gates was being installed at Hagside near Radcliffe on the busy Bury to Manchester commuter line in 1980. It meant that the old Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway signal box would be become redundant when work on the new crossing and signal box was complete
