AN elderly man has been taken to hospital after a car "flipped over" during a two-car smash on the motorway yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the M60 Junction 18 towards the M66 at Simister Island, shortly after 8pm on July 28.
Two cars collided which resulted in one of the cars being flipped over, landing upside down on the outside lane.
The lane was closed for more than an hour following the collision, while emergency services cleared the area.
The man in question was removed from the overturned vehicle and rushed to hospital by paramedics.
A North West Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called to a two-car road traffic collision, and one of the vehicles had flipped over.
"An elderly patient went to hospital with a non-serious hand injury.
"All other patients were walking wounded.The male conveyed was from the overturned car."
