An investigation has been launched after a man was shot in a residential street.

Police were called to to Kentsford Drive, Bradley Fold, around 11pm on Sunday, August 22, to a report that a man had been shot.

Emergency Services were called and a man in his 20s was treated for a gunshot wound.

He was taken to hospital for minor injuries where he remains in a stable condition.

Police have now launched an investigation and no arrests have been made.

Chief Inspector Matt Oxley, of GMP's Bury division, said: "It's important for members of our community to know that when disturbances like this occur we take it very seriously and are doing our utmost to prevent any further incidents.

"We have increased patrols around the area and urge members of the public with concerns to speak with our officers.

"We are following numerous lines of enquiry to make sure these offenders are brought to justice as soon as possible."
