A CANNABIS farmer in Radcliffe, caught with £200,000 worth of the drug, has been jailed for 18 months.

Police said at the time that four rooms had been kitted out for growing cannabis at a house in Church Street West.

Neighbourhood officers in Radcliffe executed a search warrant at the property on April 28.

An electricity meter had been bypassed as part of the hydroponic set-up.

Later investigators said the operation had put neighbouring buildings at risk of catching fire.

An estimated 280 plants, with a street value of £200,000, were recovered.

Thanh Le, 55, was jailed at Minshull Street Crown Court after admitting to being concerned in supplying cannabis and abstracting electricity.
