THREE dads will be walking through Bury tomorrow to highlight mental health struggles.

Mike Palmer, Tim Owen, and Andy Airey all met each other after losing their daughters, Beth, Sophie and Emily, to suicide.

Through their unimaginable pain and grief, they came up with the idea of walking 300 miles in 15 days, between their homes, in Cumbria, Greater Manchester and Norfolk.

The trio will approach the borough from Affetside, heading through Elton, Bury town centre, then on towards Radcliffe and Prestwich, eventually ending at Media City.

They initially had a target of £9,000, and have now surpassed this, raising a staggering £244, 985, with gift aid still to be added onto this.

James Bond star, Daniel Craig donated £10,000 to the mission.

The money raised will help raise awareness of suicide prevention and funds for the charity Papyrus.

Research has shown that suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK.

And supporters of Papyrus wants to encourage more people to talk about suicide and ensure that there are enough resources available to respond in the best way.
