These Halloween, there are going to be some spooky going-on at Nuttall Park.

Friends of Nuttall Park, a team of volunteers dedicating to preserving the park, are putting on their annual Lantern Parade.

Wanting to create a circle of light around the perimeter of the park, the group is asking the public to come with lit pumpkins, hats, umbrella, phones, or baby buggies.

Chair of the group, Gwenda Newton said: "The fact that we're back and go out into the fresh air once again is fantastic.

"We would really like for as many people to show up as possible because we are so welcoming.

"Bring your children and enjoy a slightly different aspect to Nuttall Park to what you might be used to.

"We're encouraging people to bring pumpkins, but if you don't have one, just bring your phone.

"I'm so happy that the event is starting up again and we can't wait to see lots of people arriving.

"This year, things will be a bit different but we hope it will still be a really nice atmosphere.

"We want to scare so please be there!"

This year's event will be socially distanced and scaled back, which means there will be none of the usdual craft stalls.

However, visitors can enjoy hot dogs, soup, cakes, a variety of snacks, as well as some hot and cold drinks, and are encouraged to come in fancy dress.
