A WOMAN has died after her broken down car was hit by another vehicle on a motorway last week.

The collision occurred at around 7.40pm on Tuesday October 12 on the M60 between junctions four and five when a black Mercedes A160 collided with a blue Vauxhall Corsa which had broken down in the first lane of the motorway.

Two days later, the passenger of the Corsa died in hospital.

PS Andrew Page, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This was a tragic incident in which a woman has sadly lost her life and our thoughts are very much with her loved ones at this awful time.
