AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a man who was found hanging on Boxing Day.

Bolton Coroners Court heard how 52-year-old John Hall Robinson, originally from Tottington, was found at his home on Oakenbottom Road, Breightmet on December 26.

Paramedics were called and Mr Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police coroners officer Julie-Ann Hyde told the court that police had carried out enquiries but that there were no suspicions of third part involvement around Mr Robinson's death.

She explained that on January 5, Royal Bolton Hospital pathologist Dr Patrick Waugh had given the opinion that the immediate cause of Mr Robinson's death was hanging.

Coroner Timothy Brennand ruled that a full inquest will be held into Mr Hall's death on Tuesday June 21 which will require statements from Mr Robinson's GP, from the police, from the North West Ambulance Service and from any mental health services that he may have been in contact with.

The evidence will be reviewed on March 12.
