A RASH of anti-Semitic Covid stickers across Bury have been condemned by a borough MP and a councillor.

Bury South MP Christian Wakeford and Unsworth councillor Nathan Boroda have each spoken out after stickers bearing Nazi insignia, with the slogan 'No Covid Pass' have appeared on pedestrian crossings and lamp-posts.

The stickers have appeared just days after a Blackburn man, Malik Faisal Akram, was shot dead following a siege at a synagogue in Texas.

Mr Wakeford said on Twitter he had seen the stickers "on the streets of Bury" and was appalled.

He added: "You can disagree with a policy, but there is absolutely no place for anti-Semitism in society. This needs to stop now and I hope (the police) catch who is putting this filth on our streets."

Cllr Boroda added: "Cllr Boroda said: “These stickers, which have been put up across our borough, are absolutely horrific.

“At a time of increased anxiety and insecurity for our Jewish community, the use of Nazi imagery in public spaces is all the more concerning.

“I have raised this with the council’s operations department who are looking at taking them down right away.”
