A BURY-BASED toy firm is celebrating 25 years in the business and is going from strength to strength.

Sambro, situated on Dumers Lane, has a European office based out of Amsterdam and employs over 80 people in the North West, having originally started out as a clearance house.

The business which grew its turnover by 38 per cent in 2021 to £52m is confident it will achieve similar growth targets in its silver anniversary year.

Sambro has evolved into a product development-focused company where they develop ranges of innovative products that includes soft toys, creative play toys, novelties and outdoor fun.

It works with more than 10 brands including Disney, Nickelodeon, Mattel, Hasbro, Viacom, Bull Dog and Cosatto.

Products under these brands includes Barbie, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Disney Princess and Care Bears.

The team has also developed its own portfolio of brands with its in-house design and innovation team.

These include Puzzle Palz - fun, character erasers which have sold over 35m units worldwide since their launch in 2019.

They offer innovation for retailers in the stationery and novelty/ impulse toy aisle.

Sambro and has unrivalled, long-term relationships with some of the world’s largest FMCG retailers, toy specialists, grocers and distributors.

In the UK these include ASDA, The Works, Tesco, B&M Bargains, Home Bargains and Smyths and in the EU include Action, AS Watson, NKD Group, Otto Simon and many more.
