COMMUNITY groups in Bury are being invited to make more use of libraries for their events and meetings.
Arrangements are now in place for rooms to be rented in the evenings and weekends, with groups allowed to let themselves in.
Rooms can be hired at all four borough libraries during library opening hours and at other times by arrangement.
All branches have accessible facilities and access to wi-fi and IT.
Cllr Richard Gold, cabinet member for communities at the council, said: “Our libraries offer a wide range of activities for local community groups, and we want to ensure that they have access to them when they need it.
"Even if the library is closed, we now have arrangements in place for groups to open them up for their meeting or activity.”
Groups and organisations that are interested in using these facilities can contact their library at https://www.bury.gov.uk/findalibrary.
