BURY singer Jsky is celebrating landing his very own show on BBC Radio Manchester.

After two years as a contributor to the BBC, Jsky has been signed as a freelance presenter and is set to host his own show later this month.

Following a stint as the showbiz correspondent for BBC Radio Manchester's breakfast show with Chelsea Norris, Jsky caught the attention of BBC producers who booked him to be a regular guest on afternoon shows discussing the latest trending topics with Becky Want.

He has also been a panellist on the "Dead Good Show", debating everything from politics to TV and entertainment.

He will now host Wednesday night’s “Dead Good Show” taking over from Asma Younus.

He said: “This is an incredible opportunity that I won't take lightly.

"Although I've worked really hard to get here, I know I wouldn't be here if it weren't for some people who fought really hard to get me through the door.

“I really want to do Manchester proud and make my family smile. I'm going to need all the support I can get.

"Who knows where a gig like this could take me.”

Jsky is the headline act for Bury Pride on April 30 and is set to perform queer empowerment song "Out" from his EP À La Mode.

Jsky hosts The Dead Good Show on BBC Radio Manchester on Wednesday evenings from 27th April at 7-10pm via 95.1 FM, on BBC Sounds and DAB.
