A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after reportedly being spotted using a mobile phone in a van.
Police in Bury said volunteer officers stopped the driver on Friday after seeing him using a phone.
He was then arrested on suspicion of drink driving, driving while disqualified and not have insurance.
The road where the white van was stopped or the time of the incident was not reported by police, who shared a picture of the vehicle on social media.
The volunteer officers who made the arrest are part of Greater Manchester Police's Special Constabulary, who give up their free time to provides support to the force.
