The UK’s leading microbiological testing and regulatory specialist, Bury's MSL Solution Providers, has been honoured with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

Celebrating business excellence across the UK, this year 226 organisations have been recognised for their contribution to International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (through Social Mobility).

MSL Solution Providers, based on Gollinrod in Walmersley, has been praised for its outstanding short-term growth as well as their International Trade.

Just three years ago, the company was servicing 25 countries, today roughly half of its business comes from export sales to approximately 60 nations.

MSL Solution Providers was founded in 2001 and is one of the UKs leading microbiological testing and regulatory houses, specialising in cosmetics, personal care and household cleansing markets.

Over the past 20 years, the company has grown to a team of over 30 who collectively own a minimum of 51 per cent of the company following its move to an employee ownership model in 2019.

Carolyn Burney, managing director of MSL Solution Providers, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been recognised by Her Majesty the Queen.

“Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, for International Trade is a real honour and is testament to the hard work, passion, and commitment of the whole team.

“I’m so proud of this achievement – it’s a real team effort so thank you!

“A special thank you must also go to founder Angela Davies and chairman, Mark Fenn.

“Both have recently retired from the day-to-day running of the business, but their inspiration and hard work lives on and we celebrate this accolade with them today.”

The company will be visited later this year by the Lord-Lieutenant of the County, where they’ll be presented with a Grant of Appointment and a commemorative crystal trophy.

In addition, founder Angela Davies, represented the company at a royal reception held at Buckingham Palace on July 12 this year.

Now in its 56th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to fly The Queen’s Awards flag at their main office and use the Queen’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
