The sons of the late comedian Bobby Ball are coming to Bury and local people are invited to join them.

They will be attending a fundraising event at the Village Hotel for Wipe Your Tears  spring flower dance.

Wipe Your Tears is a small Salford-based charity which is looking to share its successes with Bury in its biannual red-carpet event.

The charity wants to hold the event, headlined by Bobby Ball’s sons -Robert and Darren - and singer, Kadie-Jo Green, to give people the ‘red carpet experience’ without the expensive costs.

Wendy Hutchins from the charity said: “You have all these big corporate balls across the board, and we find them very expensive so instead, we had the idea for the Spring Flower Dance.

“It evolved around 2012 and was born out of wanting to allow everyday people to feel as special as people who can afford tickets to events like this which are over £200.”

Tickets for the Spring Flower Dance are priced at £50 and payment plans can be set up after a £10 deposit is paid.

The event typically hosts over 200 guests who arrive around 5.30pm to a champagne, canape and a red-carpet reception.

Speaking about the previous Spring Flower Dances, Wendy shared what some of the fundraising goes towards.

She said: “At our last one, we had was a boy called Finley attend with his mum and dad.

“He needed a sensory room, and we were able to fund that so now he can have access to that help.

“We were also able to fund a medical bed, which costs £10,000 for a lad called Louis and we also share the stories of people we help and the hardships they have been through.”

The Salford charity aims to ‘Wipe Your Tears’ and help you smile, making lives easier for parents whose children are in hospital, helping provide medical equipment as well as helping victims of domestic abuse.

On more than one occasion, Wipe Your Tears has paid for shopping, bills, and mortgage payments for those who need it by paying this directly to the companies, shops or providers.

Their hard work is being celebrated at the Village Hotel and the charity hopes to raise more funds for terminally ill children and families who need their support.

Bury residents and Businesses have been invited to join them in their efforts.

Wendy said: “We have a couple of sponsors and a brochure but we're looking for some Bury businesses to join us as well.

“They will get a full page in the brochure; their logos will be on our sponsor board and will be in the backdrop for all our photographs on the night.”
