The Bury Hospice Lottery, previously known as the Red Rose Lottery, was established back in 1994.

It currently has over 7,000 members who play each week with a chance of winning £1,000.

The lottery is an excellent income generator for the hospice and players can make such a difference for only £1 a week.

Giving a few pounds a month may not seem a lot but collectively our lottery members helped generate an income of £388,374 last year.

Since its inception, our lottery members have been critical in ensuring the hospice has a steady income stream, enabling us to provide vital care and support to our patients and their families.

We have two lottery representatives Chris Harding and Jean Avery who are regularly out canvassing across the borough to help grow our membership of lottery players.

We also arrange special draws each year during the summer and at Christmas.

Our Christmas draw has just launched and it should have already arrived on the doorsteps of our supporters along with a copy of the autumn edition of our In Touch newsletter.

Last year, the Christmas draw raised £22,721 for the hospice and now more than ever, we need your continued support to help us raise vital funds to enable us to create precious memories for our patients and their families this Christmas.

We are inviting everyone to support the work of the hospice by taking part in the raffle, giving you the chance to win fantastic cash prizes including a first prize of £2,000.

If you are not on our mailing list and would like tickets, they are available to purchase by calling Lisa Sewell or Lauren Bamford in our lottery team on 0161 763 1893.

The closing date is Friday, December 2 and tickets will be drawn on Friday, December 9. You must be aged 16 or over to play or claim a prize.

By supporting our Christmas draw, you will be showing our patients and their families how much you care and helping to make the festive period extra special.

Every ticket you buy helps provide compassionate care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

It costs £3.5m a year just to keep the hospice running and we need to raise £3m ourselves.

The hospice is fortunate enough to have such amazing support from the people of Bury.

We have a small team raising vital funds and that is why we value the support of the community so much.
