Light up a Life is a pivotal moment in Bury Hospice’s calendar.

At this very special time of year we come together to remember with family and friends, those we love and miss and the joy they brought to our lives.

Our Light up a Life service will take place at Bury Parish Church on Wednesday, December 7 at 7.30pm.

Within our service you will hear patient stories and messages from people within our community.

Christmas is a special time of year and the lighting of the candle is an especially poignant part of our service and marks the moment where we take time to remember our loved ones.

The lights on our tree, both inside and outside the hospice will shine brightly throughout the festive season as a symbol of our love and remind us of the special people we miss so much.

Running alongside the annual service is Bury Hospice’s Light up a Life donation appeal which will help us to continue to deliver palliative and end-of-life care and support to patients and their families across Bury.

The dedication you make will be featured on a special tribute page throughout our 2022 Light up a Life season.

We encourage you to spread the word of Light up a Life as we want as many people as possible from across Bury to join us.

While all of our events are here to bring people together, they raise money for us too.

As a hospice we have been overwhelmed by the love we have experienced throughout the year.

We have been particularly touched this year to see how many children and young people have got behind the hospice and done what they can to raise money to help.

As an independent charity, it costs £3.5m to run our services with an 18 per cent contribution from the NHS.

By supporting our Light up a Life donation appeal, you will be showing our patients and their families how much you care and helping to make the festive period extra special.

We could not do what we do without the support of our community, we are grateful for every penny raised and we look forward to sharing Light up a Life with you.
