A Bury College business student is using his newfound entrepreneurial skills to help launch his music career.

Criss Kaengele has been growing his following across his social media platforms and has been using skills gained from his course to run his own record label with his brother.

Criss's musical style is unique, seeing himself as a rapper but with influences from across different genres.

The 18-year-old said: “I like all kinds of music, but I mainly listen to a lot of American Hip Hop and Afrobeat.

“Both genres have influenced a lot of my music.

“I also like any band or musician that puts their soul into their music and makes you feel good when listening.”

Looking ahead to his future, Criss, who attended Cardinal Langley RC High School in Middleton, said: “My big ambition is to have a career in the music industry and tour the world performing.

“In the short term, I am also thinking about applying for university as an option to help my career.”

Criss’s tutor at Bury College, Caitlin Bindley, added: “Criss is a brilliant student who works very hard both in and outside the college.

“We are all very proud of him in the Bury College Business Academy and wish him all the success in his music and business career!”
