Rubbish littering an area of Bury has caused concern for councillors who have been trying to keep the streets clean.

Bury West representatives, Shahbaz Arif, Jackie Harris and Dene Vernon joined the Bury street cleansing team to spruce up Stephen Street and nearby areas.

The councillors have gathered contaminated and abandoned wheeled bins, removed fly-tipping, and cleaned back streets in a clean up.

Cllr Arif said: “Fly-tipping and littering are terrible and they are damaging to neighbourhoods. It also costs the council a great deal to clean up.

“Your Bury West councillors are always available to help in trying to keep our streets clean.
