A road in Summerseat is set to be closed tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday to allow drainage works to take place.
The council will be cleaning and jetting the beany blocks that run down the full length of Bass Lane.
The local authority has confirmed that the work will be carried out over the two days from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
The work was supposed to start today, Wednesday, but heavy rain delayed the job.
The recommended alternative routes to take are via the A56 Manchester Road, Bury New Road, Peel Brow, Bridge Street, A676 Bolton Street, Bolton Road West, Longsight Road, Newcombe Road, Waterside Road, Kay Street, Pollards Lane, Cliff Avenue and Crag Lane and vice versa.
The road will be back open for normal use on Saturday.
