The organiser of Prestwich’s biggest tribute festival says the event will stay "true to its ethos" despite the rising cost of living.

Festwich, which has taken place in the village for more than a decade, returns to St Mary's Park on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30.

For its 11th year, it will welcome tributes acts to bands such as Fleetwood Mac, ELO, Foo Fighters, The Killers, Kate Bush and many more.

Saturday’s line up will remain true to its rock roots with tributes to Rammstein, NIN, Nirvana and Metallica.

Alongside music across two stages, the festival boasts thrill rides, bars, VIP areas a market area and lots of food and drink options.

Organiser Jools Taylor says he guarantees there will be no hike in ticket price with entry fees remaining the same as they were for last year’s event.

He added that the festival’s affordability has led to an increase in demand, with more people looking to attend Festwich than ever before.

Jools added: “There is a significant increase in demand for Festwich this year. There’s a huge appetite for outdoor live events and the music industry is getting back to normal after the pandemic.

“Also, Festwich is so affordable compared to some of the other festivals that are taking place, we’ve calculated the average festival is around £100 per person just for the ticket, where Festwich comes in at only £12 per person, less for children.

“We are seeing thousands of festival goers turning to us as a great fun, quality, real, affordable festival option, so much so we have capped the number of tickets available.

“We know Festwich has loyal fans who have been with us from day one and we would hate to see them miss out so we are urging Festwich fans not to delay once tickets are released.”
